MIDLAND Head to Health has undergone a rebrand and is now known as Midland Medicare Mental Health Centre.

While the name has changed, residents of Midland and surrounding areas will continue to benefit from free mental health care at the mental health centre.

The centre provides a safe and welcoming space, where locals can walk-in to access free and confidential mental health information and support without needing a referral, Medicare card or appointment.

Staffed by qualified mental health professionals and people with lived experience, the centre provides immediate support to adults in distress, including their families and carers.

It can also connect people with other support services, such as employment assistance, to support them in the future.

“We are proud to have become an integral part of the Midland community and surrounding areas over the past few years,” service manager Ruth Lawrence said.

“Our new name is the next step in our evolution of providing quality mental health services for adults in this community at no cost.”

Located at 23 Old Great Northern Hwy, Midland, the centre is open seven days from 10am to 8pm with no appointment needed.

There are four other Medicare Mental Health Centres in the state, located at Northam, Mirrabooka, Armadale, and Gosnells.

Locals who are not able to visit the centre in person can call 1800 595 212 to speak to an experienced professional to receive advice or a referral to a service that meets their needs.
