THE Nationals federal leader David Littleproud spent last week campaigning with candidate for Bullwinkel Mia Davies and meeting councils, businesses and families.
Mr Littleproud said Bullwinkel was considered a ‘must win’ seat for The Nationals and his visit to the electorate would be one of many.
“As leader of The Nationals, it’s important now to give the people of Bullwinkel the respect they deserve, by turning up and listening to their concerns,” Mr Littleproud said.
“The coalition’s only chance to win this seat is with Central Wheatbelt’s Mia Davies, and the coalition’s only chance of forming government at the next election is by winning a seat such as Bullwinkel.”
Ms Davies said she was determined to win the trust of Bullwinkel families.
“The campaign starts now, being on the ground and making sure local communities understand that I am committed to their concerns, whether it’s cost-of-living, access to affordable childcare, options for ageing close to family and friends, affordable GPs, or fighting for the infrastructure that they deserve,” Ms Davies said.
“For many, it will be the first time they can vote for The Nationals so I’m looking forward to sharing why our team can deliver for them at the next election.”
Mr Littleproud added Labor’s ideology isn’t matching the practical reality of what is coming out of families’ wallets.
“Under Labor, electricity prices have increased by 22 per cent, we’ve seen 12 mortgage rate hikes, and the price of food and groceries is up more than 11 per cent,” Mr Littleproud said.
“Families in Bullwinkel need to ask themselves, are they better off under Labor than what they were two years ago? I think you would be extremely hard pressed to find anyone who is better off now than under the former coalition government.”
