THE State Government has recently completed construction of two complexes of one and two-bedroom homes for social housing in Bassendean.
The new double-brick homes were built by Shelford Constructions and Swan Group WA, and are centrally located, close to public transport, shops, schools and recreational facilities.
The properties are now in the process of being offered to applicants from the public housing list.
Bassendean MLA Dave Kelly said more safe and affordable housing in Bassendean meant more housing choice and diversity throughout the electorate.
“The Cook Labor Government continues to deliver and drive investment and more housing into Bassendean as we respond to our community’s needs,” he said.
Housing Minister John Carey said the 21 new home units will provide safe and affordable homes to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
“Since the Cook Labor Government’s record $4.5 billion
investment in housing and homelessness measures, we’ve added more than 2800 social homes, with more than 1000 social homes currently under contract or construction, throughout Western
Australia,” he said.
