THE latest anthology from the Mundaring creative writing group will be launched on Friday, December 12 at the Lazy Corner.

The 2025 anthology is a softcover book full of entertaining stories for a wide range of readers and is the sixth volume to be published by the group.

Illustrated with drawings and photographs, it includes poetry, biography, fantasy, children's stories, magic, science fiction and personal experiences.

Group chairperson Lawrence Marshall said the anthology evolved from written pieces brought in each week by the group members.

“Some of the content includes feedback by group members and some of it is what we call ‘writing for therapy’,” he said.

“For example, one of our group members is a Vietnam veteran.”

Mr Marshall said the content was both biographical and fictional, including one submission entitled, ‘What if covid had continued?’

The creative writing group began more than 17 years ago and still has one member from that time,” he said.

“All of the writers live locally and the book contains 204 pages and costs $25.”

The book launch is from 9.30am to 12pm at the Lazy Corner, shop 9, Mundaring Village Shopping Centre, Great Eastern Highway, Mundaring (eftpos facilities are available).

Copies can also be purchased from the Mundaring Adult Learning Centre, 3 Craigie Place, Mundaring before December 19.

The Mundaring creative writing group meets every Friday at 9.15am at the adult learning centre.
