HILLSIDE Christian College in Forrestfield has received a new arts facility thanks to the federal government’s capital grants program.
The program delivered $539,000 in funding for the school, which federal Swan MHR Zaneta Mascarenhas said was used to create a performing arts and visual art centre as well as a media learning area.
“These facilities will provide school staff, teachers and students at Hillside Christian College with better, more modern spaces in which to work, teach and learn,” she said.
“The teachers, staff and students at Hillside have built a strong positive school community and these new facilities will further enhance our local educational opportunities.”
Hillside Christian College principal Stephen Lamont said this was a significant positive development for the school community.
“The college is delighted by the result. We have a new state-of-the-art facility which offers performing and visual arts,” he said.
“We would like to thank the federal government for their support and also the school community.”
