SWAN View botanical artist Stacy Gardoll will represent the eastern suburbs along with eight other female artists from all over Perth at the Perfectly Still art exhibition.

The free exhibition runs from September 6 - 15 at the Moores Building Art Space (MBAS) in Fremantle, then online until September 30.

Ms Gardoll studied design for theatre and film at WAAPA, then worked in Perth and Melbourne designing and painting sets and costumes for productions in theatre.

Many of her early design opportunities were as a costume designer, designing for musical theatre, opera, and dance productions, working in small independent theatres, as well as the larger ones, including the State Theatre in Melbourne, the Production Company and Perth Theatre Company.

She also holds a Bachelor of Design from Curtin University and has been commissioned by the head of Kings Park Botanic Gardens to create a painting of a new species of eucalypt, and is a long-term member of the Mundaring Hills Open Studio trail.

The exhibition features nine women who ironically, rarely keep still. In fact, this collective of leading contemporary artists are prominent movers and shakers in the Western Australian art scene.

Perfectly Still brings together a remarkable collection of over 80 still life and botanical paintings, superbly crafted and uniquely depicted by each artist, all connected in their exploration of everyday objects.

A celebration of still life with a modern, innovative twist which examines those quiet mindful moments when time almost stands still, it is an exhibition to be savoured slowly.

This is not your average group show, it is rare to find such a collection of artworks of similar genre and quality in one exhibition. Nine of the best in one space.

These talented award-winning artists are passionate, creative, collaborative and diverse. They are also multi-faceted, evidenced by what they have accomplished alongside their art careers. Life experience, culture, careers, environment, struggles and family all strengthen the resultant work, weaving through and informing their art.

The other artists exhibiting will be Sarah Abbott, Bec Bartell, Sue Eva, Teresa Fernandez, Hayley Kruger, Alex Kyriakacis, Mia Laing and Heidi Emma Mullender.

On Friday, September 6 there will be a free opening from 6pm, with tickets available here.

The exhibition runs from September 6-15 and is open Monday to Sunday 10am-3pm. For further information go to this website.
