Pilot dies in micro light plane crash in Beverley

WA Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after the death of a small micro light aircraft pilot.

THE pilot of a small micro light aircraft has died after his plane crashed at a regional property near Little Hill Road in Beverley just after 11am on Saturday, January.

The pilot, 69-year-old Beverley grandfather John Wilson, the sole occupant of the aircraft, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

His family had been watching his flight when the aircraft crashed onto his neighbour’s nearby property.

Police, St John WA and Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel attended the scene, while Recreation Aviation Australia is investigating the crash.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Beverley is a popular destination for gliders and microlight aircraft and used for ultralight and sports plane training.
