A GLEN Forrest mum is taking part in the Childrens Cancer Institute’s ‘86k for a cure’ initiative with the goal of walking two laps of the Railway Reserve Heritage Trail at the end of the month.

Freelance stylist Teagan Sewell aims to raise $1000 from walking the 86km with her six month old daughter Matilda.

Ms Sewell said after giving birth she now understands how hard it would be to have a child who is ill.

Ms Sewell is no stranger to the heritage trail and walks segments of it daily, but she plans to complete the two laps over two days, March 30 and 31.

“Matilda and I walk the heritage trail daily, we love connecting with locals who we met along the way, and I am always thinking of ideas to help bring awareness to our area,” she said.
