THE annual Romancing the Stone Open Garden and plant sale is on again early next month.
Weekend activities include a garden talk and recap of past open gardens by garden creator Tom Hogg, a ‘golden oldie’ singalong with Joe, and art exhibitions and sales by various local artists.
Stall holders range from Glass Art by Shirley Spencer to Dotti Creations with painted garden pots and fashion jewellery by Loopi Designs.
The award-winning garden offers expansive views featuring waterfalls, fish ponds, stone bridges, fountains and sculptures, as well as a stage, gazebo, stone grotto and amphitheatre.
There will also be a kids’ activity corner, including glitter tattoos, a treasure hunt and colouring in sheets.
Food includes a sausage sizzle, Devonshire teas, soup and cakes, all served in a large, enclosed courtyard.
The Romancing the Stone Open Garden will be held on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5 at 3 Lilian Road, Maida Vale (cnr Lilian and Hawtin Roads) from 10am to 4.30pm daily.
Entry is $8 for adults with schoolchildren free, and all proceeds go towards Kalamunda Community Matters. For more information contact Tom Hogg on 9454 4298.
