THE 2024-2025 discount directory for WA Seniors Card members is now available, offering a wide range of discounts on goods and services to help older Western Australians with the cost of living.
The free discount directory lists hundreds of local Western Australian businesses which generously support the community by offering discounts to seniors.
Many discounts encourage seniors to stay connected, engaged, and active in their communities. The discount directory also encourages seniors to buy and shop locally, which benefits local businesses and the state’s economy.
The directory also features images from the 2024 Golden Lens photography competition, which reflect the lives and interests of Western Australian seniors.
This initiative builds on the raft of measures available to Western Australians with a WA Seniors Card, which offers some of the most valuable state government concessions and rebates in the country.
Card members have access to free off-peak public transport, concessions on local government rates and water service charges, the $400 safety and security rebate and a cost of living rebate which has provided more than $421 million assistance since launching in 2009.
Seniors and Ageing Minister Don Punch said the annual discount directory was a resource for WA Seniors Card members, reducing the cost of living through a wide range of discounts offered by participating businesses.
“This discount directory would not be possible without the generosity of many businesses across our state, and I would like to acknowledge their contributions to the WA economy. I strongly encourage everyone to support our local businesses where possible.
“Western Australian Seniors Card members continue to have access to a valuable range of State Government concessions and rebates. This includes free off-peak public transport, and concessions on your local government rates and water service charges.
“Further relief is being provided in the annual cost of living rebate as payments begin to roll out to registered Seniors Card members, with singles receiving a payment of $107.12 and couples receiving $160.68 this year.”
Copies of the hard-copy discount directory can be found at selected libraries, community resource centres or from the offices of members of Parliament.
