THE Swan Chamber of Commerce will hold its next Hour of Power on Wednesday, August 14 from 10.30am at the Crooked Spire with a focus on how best to engage with local government.
City of Swan chief executive officer Stephen Cain will be the guest speaker and said this event will be another opportunity to engage with the community and share some advice.
“I have accepted an invitation to speak at the Swan Chamber of Commerce’s Hour of Power about the City of Swan’s role as a local government, the support we offer to businesses and how we engage with our community,” he said.
“Our city covers almost 20 per cent of the Perth metropolitan area. It’s an extremely diverse region, ranging from historic Guildford to rapidly growing newer suburbs and rural areas.
“We put a lot of effort into how we engage with residents and businesses and this event is another opportunity to do that.”
Mr Cain said he hopes to meet members of the community and give a better understanding of how local governments operate through this event.
“Together with other members of our executive team, I’m looking forward to meeting the attendees, giving them insights into our organisation and sharing some advice I hope they may find useful,” he said.
Mr Cain was the chief executive at the City of Cockburn from November 2004 to April 2020 and became interim chief executive at the City of Canning in May 2021 before becoming chief executive at the City of Swan in December 2022.
