CITY of Swan residents have successfully triggered a special electors meeting following concerns over proposed local representation and ward boundary changes.
The meeting will be held at Midland Town Hall on Monday, November 9 commencing at 6.30pm.
The Guildford Association successfully secured over 400 signatures to challenge the city’s ward boundary review draft, which they argue contains errors and potential biases that require further investigation.
This follows council’s previous rejection of a September motion to pause public consultation of the ward review until concerns in the discussion paper were addressed, as reported in Swan rejects bid to pause ward review consultation.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions from the floor before council debates a motion calling on the city to withdraw the discussion paper, correct all errors, comply with state advisory guidelines, and undertake a comprehensive review.
Registration is required to attend the meeting or submit questions in advance via the City of Swan’s website at www.tinyurl.com/48bbp7yc
