SWAN sports organisation Binar Futures will be receiving $12.5 million from the state budget to support the development of a new community sport hub in Bellevue.

The hub was part of the Cook Government’s new $332m PlayOn WA initiative which aimed to guide investment in community sport and recreation infrastructure across the state.

“PlayOn WA will ensure sport and recreation facilities keep pace with growing communities, support active lifestyles and provide inclusive spaces where Western Australians of all ages and abilities can connect, grow and move,” a state government spokesperson said.

Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti said the state government was proud to invest record amounts in community sporting infrastructure.

“This initiative is about more than buildings and ovals,” she said.

“It’s about creating places where people of all ages can discover their passion for sport and recreation, and communities can stay active and healthy for generations to come.”
