THE Swan Valley Visitor Centre has further cemented its position as the very best of Australia’s 500 tourism centres with a second consecutive win at the Qantas National Tourism Awards held last Friday.

The annual awards are the premier event for celebrating innovation, dedication and success across Australia’s $213 billion tourism industry.

The awards saw the Swan Valley Visitor Centre again being honoured with the gold award in the visitor information services category.

City of Swan Mayor Tanya Richardson said the award recognised the outstanding contribution of local tourism businesses and the wider community for their vital role in supporting WA’s visitor economy.

“It’s wonderful to see our dedication to the best possible visitor service recognised with another win in this important category,” she said.

“It’s a tribute not only to our hard-working staff, but all those businesses who work hard to consolidate the Swan Valley as one of the premier tourist destinations in the whole of Australia.”

Established in 1984, the Australian Tourism Awards were introduced to celebrate and showcase significant achievements in the tourism industry.
