JOSH and Rachael Davenport, owners and winemakers at MyattsField Vineyards in the Bickley Valley are not only known for their award-winning wines, but also for their altruism and 18 years of unwavering support for Western Australians living with neuromuscular conditions.
On Saturday, April 13, they are playing host to the third Rhythm & Views fundraising concert for Neuromuscular WA.
Local band These Galahs will provide the music and entertainment and MyattsFields’ award-winning wines will be available for purchase with proceeds going to their charity of choice.
In addition to hosting this popular fundraiser, each year the Davenports donate significant amounts of wine as well as a row of Mourvèdre grapes known as ‘Row 38’ for live auction, which sold for a record-breaking $23,000 last year and has raised $146,300 to date. This gives the winning bidder the unique opportunity to play winemaker for the vintage.
Both are honorary life members of Neuromuscular WA and Mr Davenport was elected as board chair last year.
“Neuromuscular WA makes a vital difference to their community and as they receive no ongoing government funding we want to do what we can to support them. Rhythm & Views not only helps this important organisation but celebrates what the Bickley Valley wine region has to offer,” Mr Davenport said.
Neuromuscular WA takes a holistic approach to improving the quality of life of those living with neuromuscular conditions through social programs, advocacy, funding for research, counselling, equipment, grants, system navigation and NDIS support.
