TO support Midland’s growing community and expand the residential offerings in the historical Helena Precinct, the Cook Labor government has released two 1400sqm grouped housing sites.

The grouped housing sites (Lots 928 & 929), released through DevelopmentWA, permit three to eight storeys and present a unique opportunity for developers to complement the precinct’s revitalisation.

Located just 500 metres from the new Midland Station, residents will have access to amenities, shops, cafes, and medical facilities.

Offers are invited until 2pm WST Tuesday, November 11 and interested parties are encouraged to contact DevelopmentWA for more information.

This latest release follows the successful sale of an adjacent site that will deliver 14 townhouses to increase housing diversity.

In addition, two further sites in Midland have also been selected for two of 14 build-to-rent apartment developments being delivered through DevelopmentWA’s Affordable and Social Living program, which will provide up to 1146 new homes across the Perth metropolitan area.

These two Midland projects combined are expected to deliver 176 apartments, comprising 140 affordable and 36 social one and two-bedroom dwellings.

Both projects are also located close to the new Midland Station with one commencing construction in the first half of 2026 and the other late 2026.

Midland’s urban renewal project continues to transform the city centre and revitalise the gateway to the Swan Valley and Perth Hills, with more than $1 billion in combined government and private investment.

The vision is to create a thriving city that attracts businesses, residents, and tourists to Perth’s eastern corridor.

Midland MLA Steve Catania said this was another exciting step for the local community in Midland’s transformation.

“These new opportunities for residential development will strengthen our town centre by enhancing vibrancy and supporting local businesses.

“With the new Midland Station just around the corner, I’m proud to be a part of the Cook Labor government which has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to infrastructure investment in our local area.”

Planning and Lands Minister John Carey said the government was doing all it could to ensure every Western Australian has a secure home, supporting supply across the continuum.

“This release is about expanding residential options that are well-located near transport and amenity.

“The latest offering in Midland builds upon the medium density momentum underway in the town centre and I urge developers to submit an offer.”
