Youth homelessness council needs members

The Youth Homelessness Advisory Council is looking for members with lived experiences of homelessness to join their committee.

THE Youth Homelessness Advisory Council (YHAC) is looking for two young people aged between 16 and 25 to join their committee.

YHAC is a WA youth-led advocacy group, made up of young people with lived experience of homelessness.

There are two paid positions available for a casual committee member and an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander casual committee member.

Successful applicants will have an opportunity to get skilled up as a leader and advocate with paid training also provided while you work in a team with other young people at Youth Advisory Council.

“We are seeking a diverse team and strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, LGBTIQA+ young people, young people living with a disability, and young people from a refugee, migrant and multicultural applicants backgrounds to apply,” a spokesperson said.

“We are keen to attract young people with lived experience of homelessness or housing insecurity.”

Applications close 9am on October 28.
