THE winners have been announced for the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce 2025 Outstanding Enterprise Awards, recognising the exceptional achievements of local businesses and individuals who exemplify innovation, leadership, and community spirit.
This year’s awards saw a record number of participants, highlighting the continued growth and evolution of the region’s vibrant business community.
Of the 16 category winners, an impressive 15 were first-time recipients, demonstrating the depth of emerging excellence across Kalamunda and surrounds.
The Chamber also acknowledge the invaluable support of their sponsors, particularly major sponsor, CD Dodd, for making the event possible.
Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce Chairperson Jon Elbery said small business was the engine room of the state’s economy.
“Behind every successful enterprise lies a story of courage, commitment and creativity. The awards not only recognise business success, they celebrate the visionaries who have chosen the more challenging path of creating opportunity and building enterprises that enrich our community and underpin Kalamunda’s economic prosperity,” Mr Elbery said.
“What was clear from this year’s award submissions is that profit alone is not the primary motivator. Our local business owners are driven by purpose, passion and a sense of contribution.”
Kalamunda Chamber CEO Tania Both said she was proud to see record participation in this year’s awards and to see the diversity of the community truly reflected in the winners.

THE Perth Observatory Volunteer Group has been honoured with the 2025 Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce Community Activation Award, recognising excellence in community activation through events, programs and initiatives that build relationships within the community.
In the state forest at Bickley, the Observatory welcomes up to 20,000 visitors each year, offering a rich blend of astronomy, heritage, and hands-on science experiences.
Since 2015, more than 180 dedicated volunteers, supported by DBCA, have helped transform the site into a vibrant hub of learning, culture, and tourism.
From Night Sky Tours and astrophotography workshops to school programs, children’s activities, offsite community events, and partnerships like Astrofest and the Bickley Harvest Festival, the Observatory continues to engage audiences of all ages. Volunteers deliver world-class experiences with warmth, passion, and knowledge, ensuring visitors leave inspired by the universe.
This award recognises the Observatory’s extensive outreach, its commitment to preserving Western Australia’s scientific heritage, and its work to expand STEM into STEAM through the development of a Sculpture Park, while also fostering sustainable tourism.
For the volunteers who keep this “Gateway to the Universe” shining, this honour celebrates their dedication and reflects community spirit as enduring as the stars they share.

FOR many families in the Perth Hills, pets are more than companions, they are very much loved family.
As vet medicine becomes more specialised, the challenge for vets is to balance advanced care with the warmth and familiarity that pet owners want. Kalamunda Veterinary Hospital, proudly independent and family owned since 2009, has embraced this through a GP-Plus model by bridging the gap between general practice and specialist level care while maintaining the personal touch of a neighbourhood clinic.
Our commitment to hard work, excellence and compassion has been recognised by the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce, with our winning of the “Outstanding Professional Services Award”.
Our moto, “everyone deserves a vet they can trust”, resonates strongly in a time when corporate ownership of vet clinics is reshaping much of the veterinary landscape.
As we celebrate this achievement, we also extend our congratulations to the other Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce award winners. Their successes highlight the high standards of all of our local businesses. All of us driven by hard work, passion, and a genuine commitment to the Hills community.

MEHWISH Rashid has built MeWish Brow + Beauty on passion, purpose, and the belief that every woman deserves to feel seen.
In 2016, she opened her first brow and lash booth in Victoria Park, specialising only in brows and lashes, but by 2018 she had expanded into a full-service salon in Forrestfield – offering facials, waxing, lash extensions, and advanced skin therapies.
Leaving her accounting career behind, Mehwish pursued her Diploma in Beauty Therapy, followed by certifications in advanced facials, microneedling, lymphatic and reflexology massage facials, lash lifts, lash extensions, and Inkless Scar Revision (ISR) – where she is now fully certified.
This year, her dedication was recognised when she won the Outstanding Personal Service Award, a true reflection of the care and expertise she brings to every client.
Today, MeWish Brow + Beauty offers ISR, brow and hairline regrowth therapy, lashes, facials, brows, and more - using vegan, organic, Australian-made skincare.
Mehwish is also building collaborations with schools and NGOs to support individuals affected by trauma, self-harm, and confidence loss.
Her mission is simple: beauty that heals – not just enhances.

WE are incredibly proud to share that The Peoples Produce has been honoured with three awards at the 2025 Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Enterprise Awards, Excellence Online, Outstanding Independent Retailer, and Business Person of the Year, awarded to our very own Anies.
For us, this recognition is deeply personal. “We started the Peoples Produce as farmers wanting a better way to feed our community, wanting to sell direct to the public and bypass the conventional system,” says co-founder Kieran Daly.
From our markets to our home deliveries, from curated produce boxes to the community support we give quietly behind the scenes, everything we do is built on people, not profit. Our belief has always been simple, good food should be accessible to all, clean, local and grown with love.
As Anies always says “ No one should ever have to worry about how to feed their families, our success as a family business is measured by what we give, not by what we get’’
These awards are not just ours, they belong to our customers, our farmers, our crew, and the families who have supported us from the beginning.
The Peoples Produce is more than a business. It’s a movement. And this is only the beginning.
