SOME Midland Guildford male sides completed the second day of their matches against Bayswater Morley, while none of the female sides had fixtures this weekend.
The male 1st grade started their batting innings with a commanding opening partnership of 106 runs between Jordan Roads (63 runs from 92 balls) and Mitchell Pope (51 from 114).
Contributions from James Kirwan (32 from 73) and Austin Thomas (33 from 90), who was playing in his 100th match for the male 1st grade side, helped push the score to 9-268 from 90 overs.
Lachlan Pratt led the bowling innings with 5-38 from 13 overs in a standout display that aided the side in restricting their opposition to 147 all out.
It resulted in a 121-run victory for the side in their final two-day match of the season.
In the male 2nd grade match, the Midland Guildford side was sent in to bat by the opposition and posted 234 all out thanks to the standout contribution of Hayden Kain who scored 100 from 162 in the first innings.
The target set wasn’t enough to defend as their opponents passed the score with two wickets remaining.
Ben Skinner was the lead bowler with 3-37 from 12 overs in the loss.
It was a 42-run victory for the male 3rd grade side who defended their score of 234 all out by restricting their opponents to 8-192 from 80 overs.
Hunter Wills (64 from 94) and Kelly Jones (50 from 96) both posted half-centuries in the first innings, before Will Shackles took 4-56 from 30 overs in a major contribution towards restricting the opposition.
A dominant display from the male 4th grade saw them guarantee themselves 1st position on the ladder to finish the season after comfortably chasing the target of 129 for victory.
Ash Mucciarone took 5-20 from 14.2 overs in a clinical performance that helped restrict the opposition to 128 all out.
Jaxon Ozanne produced a superb innings of 122 from 125 to lead the run chase in which the side finished 6-224.
The male U17 secured a finals position with a strong performance.
After bowling out their opposition for 123, the side posted 8-284 from their 50 overs.
Mitchell Pivac was the standout batter with 112 from 100 in the run chase, while Hunter Wills scored 69 from 73 in a supporting role.
The male U15 were led by Mohit Malviya (97 from 92) in their run chase of 153 for victory.
They posted 5-302 in response with Aravind Anoop scoring 61 from 49 as well in the second innings.
The final round of the year for a number of sides will be very important for determining the positions for sides aspiring to compete in finals this season.
