THE Hills Raiders U11 girls team made the grand final in division two of last weekend’s Basketball WA Fuel to Go state championship tournament.

The girls set a fierce and fast-paced tone from game one, playing a total of five games over the weekend.

The team got through the semi-finals with a nail-biting two-point win against the Eastern Suns to tackle the Cockburn Cougars in the grand final game.

They stormed into the grand final and showcased impressive defensive play and great overall teamwork, but ultimately lost the championship game by 12 points, but still came away from the tournament with new skills and an exciting start to their 2024 WABL season.
