Jetta shines during country carnival

More than 800 players took part in the country football carnival over the weekend.

THE Hills Football Association put together a combined squad of 30 players along with support staff to take part in the 2024 Nutrien AG country football carnival played at venues across Perth between July 12 -14.

HFA played in division three with Swan View player Bradley Jetta named the most valued player giving him a Jock Beattie medal.

Jetta was also included in the Country Football WA (CFWA) all-stars team which is chosen from all senior competing leagues and associations – so picked from about 450 players.

On Friday the HFA team lost both games firstly against Esperance district and then Central Wheatbelt league – four  goals in the first game and two goals in the second.

But the HFA team won both games on the Saturday, firstly against North Midlands by seven points then the Onshore Cup Association by seven goals.

Some overall consistent players were captain Adam McKinlay (Chidlow) Bradley Jetta (Swan View), Sateki A’Vard (Mundaring), Jake Forman (Chidlow), vice captain Dylan O’Loghlen (Mundaring), James Thompson (Bullsbrook) and Mitch Shilling (Pickering Brook).

There were also several other players who had good performances during the two days.

More than 800 players took part in the carnival which included seniors and colts from Kimberley in the north, Esperance to the south and the Goldfields in the east.
