THE cricket season has returned for 2023-2024 with 11 of the 12 Midland Guildford Cricket Club grades playing their opening fixtures this weekend.

The senior male sides will begin their season on Saturday, October 7 with matches against South Perth.

The male 2nd grade side will be looking to make a strong start following their campaign from last season where they made the grand final.

The senior female sides will begin their seasons on Sunday, October 8 with the female A grade playing Melville and the female B grade playing South Perth.

The female A grade side will be looking to make a strong start in the defence of their T20 premiership victory last season.

The male U17 and male U15 will start their seasons on Saturday with matches against South Perth, while the male U14 and male U13 will play their first games against Subiaco-Floreat on Sunday.

The female U17 will also start their season on Sunday against Subiaco-Floreat, while the female U14 will have a round one bye in their inaugural season.
