THE Midland Guildford Cricket Club senior males played their final one-day matches of the calendar year, while only some of the female sides were in action last weekend.
The male 1st grade travelled to Claremont Nedlands for their match in which they batted first and posted 6-245.
Their batting innings was led by Jordan Roads (80 runs from 79 balls) and Keaton Critchell (68 from 86).
This performance would lead to the side winning by 42 runs after a bowling performance led by Lachlan Pratt (4-25 from eight overs) as they dismissed their opponents for a total of 203.
The male 2nd grade hosted the same opposition and posted 9-214 in their batting innings after Mitchell Pope (59 from 83) and Calan Hill (74 not out from 56) were the catalysts in posting this total.
During a hard fought bowling innings, Kelly Jones took 3-36 from nine overs to be the leading wicket taker for the side as they held on to win by seven runs in a close contest after limiting their opposition to 7-207.
The male 3rd grade managed a 32 run victory thanks to Tom Colley scoring 75 from 98, while the male 4th grade fell short by 14 runs.
The female A grade had a bye fixture last weekend, while the female B grade played matches against both South Perth and Subiaco Floreat.
The match against South Perth resulted in an eight wicket loss as the side couldn’t defend a total of 3-104, while the match against Subiaco Floreat was an eight wicket victory after Sharna Abbott had the best bowling performance with 4-12 from four overs as they restricted their opponent to a total of just 56.
The female U17 lost by seven wickets despite Rebekah Farr scoring 48 from 43, while the female U14 did not have a match last weekend.
The male U17 and male U15 played in T20 fixtures against Claremont Nedlands last weekend.
Both sides enjoyed comfortable victories with the male U17 winning by 10 wickets and the male U15 winning by five wickets.
The male U17 restricted their opposition to 9-59 from 20 overs with their efforts being led by Max Chitty who took 4-12 from four overs.
The male U15 bowled out their opposition for a total of 66 as Jai Diepeveen took 3-12 from 3.5 overs in the victory.
The male U14 and male U13 did not have matches last weekend.
The senior male sides start their two-day fixtures this weekend, while the female sides will begin their one-day fixtures for the upcoming rounds.
