Some Midland Guildford Cricket Club female sides had wins last weekend with male sides continuing two-day matches this weekend.

MIDLAND Guildford Cricket Club had minimal matches completed over the weekend with only the senior female sides and female U17 finishing matches while the male sides started two-day fixtures.

The female A grade enjoyed a complete performance as they dominated Wanneroo with both bat and ball.

After losing the toss, a bowling effort led by Shay Manolini (3-18 from 4.5 overs) would restrict their opponents to a total of 116 all out.

Morgan Pires, Elle White and Molly Lincoln would all also take two wickets in the bowling innings.

The run chase would be led by Ruby York (33 runs from 63 balls) and Naomi Dattani (35 from 43) as the side would chase down the target with seven wickets remaining and 23 overs to spare.

The female B grade were set a target of 200 for victory by Rockingham Mandurah after a bowling innings which featured Kiara Smart taking 4-50 from eight overs.

Despite Meg Spalding scoring 57 from 53, the side would be bowled out for 131 and fall 68 runs short of the total posted by their opposition.

The female U17 also faced Rockingham Mandurah in their match over the weekend and the side would lose the toss and be asked to field first, restricting their opponents to 6-154 from 40 overs.

Sharna Abbott was the standout bowler for side taking 3-11 from eight overs.

In the run chase, Caitlin Beck (41 not out from 38) joined Mabel Davenport (11 not out from 33) at the crease with the side struggling at 8-97 before the pair produced an unbeaten 61-run partnership to result in a two-wicket victory with 5.5 overs remaining.

The upcoming weekend will feature matches for senior and junior male sides, as well as for all female sides.
