Midland-Guildford’s cricket season back

Midland-Guildford Cricket Club has begun its new season, with wins across several senior grades and mixed results in its opening matches.

THE Midland-Guildford Cricket Club (MGCC) are back as last Saturday marked the start of the latest season.

The MGCC senior men’s first grade was defeated by Gosnells Cricket Club in a close match with a total of 10-138 against Gosnells’ 8-141 at the end of the game.

The senior males’ side found success in second, third and fourth grade with wins over the Gosnells competition winning with a score of 8-237, 8-216 and 9-266 respectively.

MGCC female A grade were victorious in their game against Perth, winning with a final score of 3-185 against the competition’s 9-43.

The female B grade was defeated 9-101 against Perth’s final score of 9-108.

The U17 and U15 boys continue their match against Gosnells with the final result yet to be announced, while the U17 and U14 girls team saw a victory against South Perth U17 and a narrow loss against South Perth U14.

Round two is set for the upcoming weekend with the MGCC senior males first grade scheduled to play University Cricket Club on the coming Saturday at Lilac Hill.

The MGCC female A grade will face off against Wanneroo Districts Cricket Club’s female A grade team on the weekend.
