MUCHEA Senior Cricket Club held a presentation night on April 5 celebrating the completion of their 2024-25 season and recognising the achievements of club members.
The Muchea Tiger Snakes won three flags the past season, adding nine new members on their baggy blue board for achieving 100 runs or seven wickets.
During the night, Lachlan Chilman was inducted as the third life member of the club and presented with an illustration of himself at the wicket and up to bat.
Mr Chilman said he had not envisioned his involvement when he first began but was proud of what the club had and was glad he stepped forward.
“As my playing capabilities close and the next wave of players come forward, please remember that community clubs only exist from members volunteering their time and applying their vision,” he said.
“So when the time is right for you, please step forward.
“It may be only helping with basic tasks around the club, but any help takes the pressure off people like Luke, Brian and Taylah, captains and others.”
During the presentation night, several awards were announced for the C, H and K grade teams.
The champion players were Manpreet Singh of K grade, Sameera Madushan of H grade and Lachlan Chilman of C grade, who was also the club champion.
The team spirit award winners in their respective grades were Shani Dechtiar, Yashini Waduge and Jarrad Norris.
Winners who took home the fielding awards were Matthew Richards, Tristan Buckley, Jag Singh and Janusz Slawek.
Bowling average awards went to Matthew Richards, Sameera Madushan and Kulwinder Dhanoa.
Bowling aggregates were won by Daniel Dechtiar, Gary Kaushal, Sameera Madushan and Manpreet Singh.
Batting averages and aggregates were won by Lachlan Chilman and Jag Singh, with the average and aggregate going to Corey Carter and Janusz Slawek of K grade respectively.

The club also introduced some fun and humour during the presentation night with most wides awarded to Daniel Dechtiar, most no balls to Dylan Winterburn and most expensive over to Jason Evans.
