MUNDARING Roos and Gidgegannup Bulldogs were up against each other for their round eight Hills Footy Association clash.

The first quarter was a low scoring affair with neither team being able to take control.

Roos player Oli Aitken was having  an even tussle in the ruck against Bulldogs player Declan Whife.

Liam Marriott was dominant around the contests for the Bulldogs, clearing the ball forward to the waiting Tim Tanner who marked and kicked accurately for a goal.

Jay Michael Saverese was proving to be the Roos’ main avenue to goal.

The scores were even at the first break sitting at 20 points each.

The first 20 minutes of the second quarter went by as a goal for goal battle.

Two goals to the Roos in the last five minutes allowed them to open up a 16-point lead at the main break.

The Bulldogs managed to outscore the Roos by a goal in the third bringing the margin back to 10 points with one quarter to play.

Mundaring controlled a lot of the last quarter with the ball spending lengthy periods in their forward line for an inaccurate return of three goals and seven behinds.

Bulldog Dylan Cahill capped off his hard running four quarters with a goal while Roo Dylan O’Loghlen repelled many of Gidgegannup’s forward entries.

Teammate Sateki A’Vard took the ball from a centre throw up and delivered it forward to fellow Roo Andrew Freeman to mark and goal.

After a hard-fought contest, Mundaring had recorded a 23-point win.

The game ended in a 12.14 (86) victory for Mundaring against Gidgegannup’s 9.9 (63).
