
MUCHEA Senior Cricket Club B-grade won their round 7 game against Morley with a gutsy 4 off the last ball of the game.
Muchea’s opening bowlers began their spells with tidy overs and R Khatkarh got a wicket in both his first and second overs.
A bowling change resulted in another 2 wickets but then Morley put on a 108-run partnership which took a while to break, going on to score 208.
Muchea lost a quick wicket before slowly putting on runs with the score at 6-110.
When R Khatkarh came out to bat he put on a match winning performance scoring 65 runs.
After that, the game went down to the wire with Muchea needing 2 runs to win off the last ball, but R Bawa remained calm and hit it for four.
Top performers: R Khatkarh 65, B Clilverd 30, R Khatkarh 3-30 and L Udy 2-35.
The Muchea E-grade team also had a good win against Kingsley Woodvale.
After losing the toss they were sent into the field first with the openers getting 2 quick wickets.
After that, the wickets dried up and Kingsley began to raise their run rate.
Muchea bowled well, getting a few wickets before drinks and changing the momentum of the game.
They ended up bowling Kingsley out for 168 in the 36th over.
Soon after, Muchea lost two quick wickets and W Bates and Y Karunawardena came on to produce a great partnership.
In a great team performance, Yunal also made 68 runs to put them back on the winner’s list.
Top performers: Y Karunawardena 68 runs, W Bates 37 runs, K Dhanoa 4-30 and M Dundon 2-31.
Lastly, the H-grade team suffered a 10-wicket loss with top performers K Singh with 20 runs and J Norris with 19 runs.
