THE men’s 1st grade side for Midland Guildford Cricket Club is currently locked in a two-day series with Scarborough Cricket Club at their home ground in Abbett Park.
The first innings for the 1st grade side saw them bowled out for 103, with Scarborough then responding with 7/183 before play ended for the day.
The men’s 2nd grade hosted Scarborough at Lilac Hill, with the visitors setting a hefty target of 304 before being bowled out, with the home side sitting at three runs after two overs faced before play stopped for the day.
The men’s 3rd grade side also travelled to Scarborough, with the home side restricting the visitors to 116 after bowling them out. Midland Guildford’s bowling attack then put the home side at 4-37 before play ended.
The 4th grade also hosted Scarborough at home, with the hosts sitting at 215 runs with one wicket remaining before Scarborough takes the crease.
Unfortunately for the female A grade side, their match against Melville was abandoned due to poor weather over the weekend.
The female U17s fell to Melville by six wickets at Tompkins Park, as the host’s chased down the visitors total of 10-113 in 17.3 overs, finishing the game 4-115.
The other women’s sides had a bye last weekend.
The men’s premier side will resume their two-day series against Scarborough this weekend.
