SWAN United Football Club is celebrating a strong season for its junior program, with three teams progressing to their respective grand finals.

The U14 girls, U16 boys and U18 boys have all secured places in their season deciders.

The U14 girls finished the season as league champions before defeating Mandurah City in their semi-final at the Swan Italian Club.

The U16 boys also reached the JCL Cup final this season before defeating Wanneroo FC in their semi-final to book a grand final appearance.

The U18 boys completed the club’s trio of grand finalists with a 5-2 semi-final victory against top-placed Dianella.

Swan United president Ben Kelly said having three junior sides competing in grand finals was a significant achievement for the club.

“To have three teams all playing in grand finals is a fantastic result for Swan United,” he said.

“These players have worked hard all season, but so have the coaches, managers, volunteers and families behind them.

“Our junior program is a massive part of the future of Swan United.

“We want young players from our local community to have a pathway where they can start in juniors, develop at the club and hopefully one day progress into our senior teams.

“The 14s girls winning the league and now reaching the grand final is also a great reflection of how far our girls’ program has come.

“We are committed to continuing to grow opportunities for girls and women at Swan United.”

The club is encouraging members, families and supporters to attend the grand finals and support the three junior sides.
