SWAN United remain fourth on the Belt-Up Amateur Premier Division table after a come-from-behind 4-3 win against Kingsley Westside at the Swan Italian Club in Francis Street, Middle Swan.

“Good to get the win especially when things aren’t going your way and our performance was not where we wanted it to be,” Swan striker John Monterosso said.

“I thought we did enough and we’ll take the three points and look ahead to some tough games coming up.”

The hosts found the opener early when Monterosso flicked the ball on to Cameron Anderson who crossed to the back post and Tom White finished.

But Kingsley levelled on 14 minutes with Jacob Di Bartolomeo on target.

Swan regained the lead on the half hour after Anderson’s shot was deflected into the path of White who finished low past Tom Bull.

But it was Kingsley who took control with goals either side of the break.

First Luke Salmon converted from the spot then Cameron Bishop gave them the lead early in the second half.

The hosts needed a lift and it was Monterosso who provided it on the hour mark after getting on the end of a Jedd Romeril through ball to finish with aplomb.

Lee Taylor’s side won it shortly after when Ben Greaves’ shot was parried by Bull and Josh Appleby was quickest to react to fire home the rebound.

The Swans are back in action next week when they welcome Maccabi to the Swan Italian Club.
