SWAN Districts WAFL team has now won six straight matches after piling on 21 goals with Leigh Kohlmann returning with six of them in a 63-point win against West Perth.

Swans started the match at Joondalup having already won five straight matches with plenty of momentum ahead of taking on a Falcons team on their own five-game losing run, but who did win a premiership as recently as 2022.

Both teams then kicked six goals apiece in the opening quarter, but it was Swans who added four goals to three in the second term, six to one in the third and five to one in the fourth.

The 11 goals to two in the second half eventually saw Swan Districts score the 21.16 (142) to 11.13 (79) victory giving them an 8-4 win-loss record to now sit in third position after round 14.

Swan Districts spearhead Kohlmann played his first game since round eight after being sidelined with concussion and starred with six goals from 12 kicks and six marks.

Brad Lynch also kicked three goals for Swans, Jackson McLachlan three, Aidan Clarke two and Tom Edwards two with 10 players all kicking at least one goal for the afternoon.

Not only did Swan Districts kick 21 goals to 11 for the game on the back of 37 scoring shots to 24 and having 85 extra possessions, but they had some hugely impressive big ball winners throughout the game too.

Nik Rokahr racked up another 33 possessions while Jye Chalcraft finished with 32 touches, Clarke 27, Josh Cipro 25, Jarvis Pina 22, Jesse Turner 22, Edwards 20, McLachlan 20, Jake Pasini 19 and ruckman Nathan Blakely 23 to go with 14 hit outs and six marks.

It was a remarkable opening quarter from both teams featuring 12 goals with six apiece in what was quite the spectacle.

West Perth did kick the first two thanks to Tyler Keitel before returning Swans spearhead Leigh Kohlmann answered with the next two.

Aidan Clarke, Lynch, Kohlmann and McLachlan then combined for the other four goals before quarter-time for the black-and-whites but West Perth was able to match them and lead by a point at the first break.

Swans regained the lead with a goal in less than a minute of the second quarter through Jesse Glass-McCasker before McLachlan and Lynch kicked their second each of the game to push the lead for the visitors out to 17 points.

But the Falcons were sticking with them and kicked three goals in response and Swans went into the half-time break with a 13-point lead on the back of a first half featuring 19 goals between the two teams.

West Perth was then back within a point to start the second half when Keitel kicked another goal, but Swan Districts then took complete control of the game.

Kohlmann kicked three more goals in the space of seven minutes with goals also to Luke Kelly, Jehb O’Donohue and Josh Cipro which saw the lead grow to 41 points.

Swan Districts went on with the job from there with another five goals to one in the fourth quarter with the goals coming from Clarke, Edwards, McLachlan, Lynch and Edwards.
