SWAN Districts pushed East Fremantle in the WAFLW on Sunday afternoon with Emily McGuire kicking two goals and Lily Paterson standing out ahead of the final two rounds to come.

On the day Swan Districts was acknowledging Recognition Week it was a dream start with McGuire, who has played more than 100 senior games, kicking the first goal of the game after just three minutes despite East Fremantle ending up winning 4.10 (34) to 3.4 (22).

It was always a significant test for Swans in round 14 of the WAFLW on Sunday when hosting the league-leading reigning premiers East Fremantle at Bassendean oval who arrived on a dominant nine-game winning streak.

There are now just two rounds of the WAFLW home and away season remaining with Swan Districts still sitting in fourth position with a 6-6 record to be a game clear of both Subiaco and South Fremantle.

Swans will now finish the season away to both West Perth and Peel Thunder.

Two wins and Swans will be guaranteed of another finals appearance in 2024, one win and they will likely still play finals and two defeats will most likely mean their season ends in two weeks’ time.

Meanwhile, it was a bye for the Swan Districts Rogers Cup team in round 14 with them currently sitting in fourth position on the ladder with a 7-5 record to be a game and percentage ahead of the fifth placed South Fremantle.

Swans will finish the Rogers Cup season away to the unbeaten West Perth and at home to Peel Thunder.
