WEST Coast Fever have won through to the Suncorp Super Netball grand final with a sensational 32-goal win over the NSW Swifts at RAC Arena.
Sunday Aryang of Midland and Kadie-Ann Dehaney produced incredible pressure in the goal circle, with Swifts’ Nweke and Helen Housby having to use their circle edge more than they would have liked.
Such pressure saved Fever from a Housby super shot, with the goal attack struggling under the pressure of Aryang.
The Swifts’ Grace Nweke took the first goal in the opening moments of the game, but it was Fever who grabbed control to win 77-45.
Jordan Cransberg found 10 feeds and a deflection while Alice Teague-Neeld managed eight feeds and a deflection in the first quarter, which Fever won 20-11.
Fever blew the game apart in the second quarter, scoring 26 to 9 to take a 26-goal lead into half time.
The mid court were flying and in sync where Jess Anstiss showed why she’s captain with control of the play.
Fever broke the game apart in the second quarter, pushing their lead to 26 goals by half-time.
Their excellent defence continued with Aryang capturing a mighty deflection off Swifts’ ball and a rebound from a Sophie Fawns super shot attempt.
Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard was at her usual high standard, shooting 44 goals for the first half alone.
Cransberg capped off a fantastic half with her third pick up, her presence in the centre bib forced untidy centre pass receives from the Swifts.
At half time the score was 46-20 in Fever’s favour.
In the third quarter, which Fever won 63-35, their consistent dominance continued.
Teague-Neeld found another intercept, whilst fellow mid courter Zoe Cransberg made her SSN finals debut with one of her own.
The Swifts shooting end just weren’t able to keep up with the defensive pressure from Fran Williams and Aryang as Fever’s lead continued to grow.
Fever were unstoppable across the entire court in the fourth quarter.
In defence, Fowler-Nembhard, Anstiss, Dehaney and Aryang all managed deflections while Jordan Cransberg, Williams, Dehaney and Aryang snatched intercepts.
Olivia Wilkinson entered in the last quarter and shot four goals and a super shot, making her mark on finals netball.
