THERE were some mixed results for Midland Guildford Cricket Club during the past round of fixtures with there still being a number of positive outcomes for some teams.

The male 1st grade had little success in a 91 run defeat against Fremantle.

After being set a target of 302 for victory, James Kirwan (56 runs from 162 balls) was the only batsman to pass the half-century mark.

In the male 2nd grade match against the same opposition, the bowling performance was led by Kyle Christie (4-28 from 16 overs) and supported by Matthew Harben and Hayden Kain who both took two wickets.

The side would restrict their opponents to 169 all out but a poor batting performance would result in a 102 run loss.

The male 3rd grade side enjoyed a comfortable victory with an emphatic 104 run win.

Freddie Britt top scored with 58 from 117 as the side set a target of 187.

This proved too much for their opponents as they would dismiss them for just 83 runs with the main contributions coming from Tom Hayward (3-31 from 20 overs), William Shackles (3-1 from four overs) and Jack Giancono (2-35 from 19 overs).

The male 4th grade could only manage 9-160 from 80 overs, before their opposition would chase the score with five wickets remaining.

The female A grade produced a complete performance in their dominant 51 run win against Melville.

The team posted 9-123 from their 20 overs after Lilly Mills scored an unbeaten 30 from 24 to lead the side.

Shay Manolini took 3-10 from four overs and Mills took 3-21 from 3.3 overs as they bowled their opposition out for a total of 72.

In the female B grade match, their total of 6-97 was not enough despite Laura Croft scoring 48 not out from 45.

They would ultimately lose the match against Subiaco Floreat by nine wickets.

The male U17 could only restrict Fremantle to 9-256 despite Riley Gould taking 4-35 from nine overs.

Jaxon Ozanne made 54 from 80 in the run chase, but the side would fall 91 runs short as they were bowled out for just 165.

The male U15 experienced success against the same opposition as they chased a target of 223 for victory, finishing with a wicket to spare as they posted 9-235 in response to Fremantle’s 4-222.

Cooper Forsyth top scored with 76 from 91 as the side got their second victory of the season.

The female U17 lost by nine wickets to Subiaco Floreat, but the female U14 won their match against Joondalup by 67 runs after Kina Patel scored 57 from 63 as the side posted 3-137 from 20 overs.

Seerat Brar (3-5 from 2.4 overs) and Harseerat Chahal (3-11 from three overs) were the best bowlers as they restricted their opponents to a total of just 70 all out.

The upcoming fixtures for all sides feature a mixture of two-day matches and T20 matches for different teams.
