Midland Guildford Cricket Club saw the female U17 and Premier T20 teams advance into Grand Finals games for the upcoming weekend.

Midland Guildford’s female cricketers showcased their talent during a weekend of intense T20 finals action, with several teams now advancing to the highly anticipated Grand Finals.

AS the male sides began two-day matches and had some games abandoned this weekend, some of the female sides for Midland Guildford Cricket Club played T20 finals matches.

In their semi-final against Subiaco Floreat, the female A grade bowled first and their opponents made 6-132 from their 20 overs.

Georgie Manek took 3-25 from four overs and was the leading wicket taker in the innings. Unfortunately, the side could only manage 67 all out from 15.4 overs in the run chase as they lost by 65 runs.

The female B grade were also playing in a semi-final, and their match was against South Perth.

Daena Master and Zoe Tickner both finished with
figures of 3-21 from four overs as the team bowled
first and their opposition made 7-134 from their 20 overs.

In the second innings, the side reached just 35 all out and were beaten by 99 runs.

After losing the toss and bowling first against Perth, the female U17 team restricted their opponents to 7-100 from their 20 overs.

In the run chase, Kaitlyn Magistro top scored with 39 runs from 39 balls as the team won by six wickets with just one ball remaining.

They will now face Subiaco Floreat in the grand final on Saturday.

The female U14 batted first against Subiaco Floreat and posted 6-106 from their 20 overs.

They successfully defended the score by bowling out their opponents for a total of 77 all out.

Seven different bowlers took wickets for the team as they secured a 29-run victory.

The female U17 team will play in the Grand Final on Saturday as well as the Premier T20 side in the Grand Final on Sunday.
