BOTH the senior male and junior male teams for Midland Guildford Cricket Club concluded their seasons last weekend while the female A grade continue to progress towards the latter stages of their respective campaign with a win.
The final matches for the male sides this season saw one-day and T20 games played against Rockingham Mandurah.
The male 1st grade played a rain affected contest in which Matt Harben proved to be the star in the match.
After the side lost the toss and were asked to bowl first, Harben proceeded to take five wickets in his 1st grade debut as he finished with figures of 5-46 off 10 overs, while Josh Nicholas also took three wickets in his spell.
Brayden Brehaut (55 runs off 71 balls) and Austin Thomas (49 not out off 46) were the main contributors with the bat as the side chased down a reduced target with five wickets to spare.
In their match against the same opposition, the male 2nd grade elected to bowl first and with notable performances from Josh Chitty (4-35 off 10 overs) and Jake Manolini (3-46 off 10) they were able to restrict their opponents to a total of 162 all out.
The side chased down the target with 14.5 overs to spare with Calan Hill (59 off 40) and Kelly Jones (53 not out off 66) being the catalysts for the run chase.
The male 3rd grade saw their match abandoned due to the weather, while the male 4th grade won by five wickets in a chase led by Brodie Finlay who finished unbeaten on 62 off 80.
The male U17 and male U15 played their final matches of the season as they both faced Rockingham Mandurah in T20 fixtures.
Harry Giancono led the male U17 to a six-wicket victory with an unbeaten score of 54 off 34, while Max Chitty was the standout for the male U15 as he took 3-16 off four overs in an 11-run win.
The female sides all faced South Perth in their latest round of fixtures with the female A grade playing out a thrilling contest in which they won by just one run in a remarkable finish.
Sheldyn Cooper took the last of her three wickets to secure the victory, with Shay Manolini also taking three wickets in the match with figures of 3-19 off 10 overs, as the side managed to defend their total of just 140 all out.
