WA Cricket Foundation has announced Wheatbelt Connect as its newest community partner to further its mission of using cricket to transform lives and connect communities.

A joint venture between INPEX, ANZ and Qantas, Wheatbelt Connect works collaboratively with landowners to create carbon farming, land restoration and revegetation projects across WA’s Wheatbelt.

Wheatbelt Connect and the foundation will work together to drive social impact across the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.

The two-year partnership will support the Foundation’s three key pillars of people with a disability, Aboriginal cricket and young women, aiming to provide an environment which is inclusive and accessible within the Wheatbelt’s regional communities.

WA Cricket chief executive officer John Stephenson said the foundation was proud to be the partner with Wheatbelt Connect to expand their programs into the Wheatbelt region.

“This support enables us to empower more women and girls, celebrate Aboriginal culture through cricket and ensure people with a disability have equal opportunities.

“Wheatbelt Connect shares our vision of using cricket as a vehicle for positive community change. Together, we can create inclusive environments where everyone feels welcome on and off the field.

“This partnership is not just about cricket, it’s about building stronger, healthier and more connected communities throughout the Wheatbelt.”

Wheatbelt Connect representative Cameron McPhie said INPEX was proud to partner with the WA Cricket Foundation to support the delivery of inclusive programs across regional Western Australia.

“This collaboration reflects our commitment to developing co-benefits through Wheatbelt Connect and supporting initiatives that foster inclusion and opportunity in the communities where we work and to engage families, celebrate diversity, and create lasting connections.”
