LABOR candidate for Bullwinkel Trish Cook has pledged a $2.9 million funding commitment to the redevelopment of Forrestfield’s Hartfield Park.

The funding pledge will see the expansion of Morrison Oval, including the alignment of the cricket nets, along with additional car parking and construction of LED floodlights.

The LED addition of lighting for matches and training sessions will ensure more sporting clubs can access the facilities into the evening, catering for the significant growth currently experienced by the clubs using the site.

“This commitment will improve accessibility, while meeting the current and future demand, helping locals in Perth’s eastern suburbs to lead an active and healthy lifestyle,” she said.

“Sport is vital to our local community, whether it’s keeping fit or catching up with mates.

“Building floodlights at Morrison Oval will improve community safety and help sporting clubs use the facilities later into the night for training and matches.”
