THE only three goals of the third quarter was enough for Swan Districts to set up the eventual seven-point Easter Saturday road victory over Peel Thunder in the WAFLW.

The match was a seesaw affair the whole way with the conditions in Mandurah playing a big factor.

In the end, Swan Districts did kick three goals to just one behind in the third quarter and that set up the eventual 5.7 (37) to 4.6 (30) victory to improve to a 2-1 record after the opening three matches of the 2025 season.

Kayley King kicked two goals in the win for Swans to go with 15 possessions and four tackles with a goal each to Taylah Edwards, Courtney Zappara and Emily McGuire.

Isabella Edgley also had a big afternoon finishing with 31 possessions and five tackles with Carys D’Addario gathering 30 disposals, Jaime Henry 18 (11 tackles), Luka Davis 14, Jemma Sly 13, Megan Carron 13, Emma Humphries 13 and Lauren Quaife 12 to go with 31 hit outs and four tackles.

Peel was kicking with the breeze in the first quarter when the game got underway on Saturday morning and as a result the Thunder had the only four scoring shots of the term and kicked two goals to be leading by 14 points at quarter-time.

Swans then had the wind behind them in the second term and took full advantage at least by creating chances on goal starting with six consecutive behinds.

Eventually Kayley King broke through for a goal at the 17-minute but by half-time Swans were still trailing the Thunder by five points.

Swans managed the first goal of the second half courtesy of Edwards to put them in front and then Zappara added another to push the lead out to seven points.

King then kicked her second of the game just before three quarter-time which gave the black-and-whites the 13-point lead by the last change.

Swan Districts kicked one goal in the final quarter thanks to Emily McGuire which was enough to secure the eventual seven-point victory in Mandurah on Saturday.
